FINOR® FlexiStrong
Smoke, heat and toxic fumes are the main obstacles to safe evacuation of a building or area during a fire. A major contributor towards overcoming these hazards is the use of fire resistant and non-halogenated cables. These cables provide the following features:
- Fire resistance
- Long-term circuit integrity in a fire
- Low smoke and toxic gas emissions
- Flame retardant properties
- Zero halogen gasses
COGEBI manufactures the PATENTED FINOR® FlexiStrong cable tape which consists of the most heat resistant silicone Phlogopite mica paper covered by a highly inorganic layer and utilizes a glass cloth as the supporting fabric. These tapes have great flexibility and thanks to special characteristics, they may be used to create inorganic, fire-resistant insulation for electrical cable. This level of performance allows the cable to pass even the most severe fire regulations (e.g. BS 8434, BS 6387 CWZ, EN 50200, etc.).
COGEBI is working on an additional type of FINOR® FlexiStrong cable tape that can pass the most severe fire regulations with only one layer of FINOR® FlexiStrong where two layers of FIROX® are necessary to meet the regulations.
